Safety in Numbers - a study about the mechanisms of interplay in urban transport

The risk for each cyclist of being involved in a conflict with car driver is highest during seasons with low cycling traffic. When the number of bicycles in Oslo increase in spring the risk for each cyclist of being involved in a conflict or accident is reduced. This shows a study by the Norwegian Centre for Transport Research about the Safety in Numbers effect.
