ADFC Cycle Trip Analysis 2015
Ranking of Germany's most popular long distance bike routes and cycle trip regions
In 2014, four million Germans did a cycle trip with three or more overnight stays, spending at least 2.5 billion Euros for accommodation, food and culture. That is estimated by the ADFC's experts, based on the representative Cycle Trip Analysis 2015, which was presented on the ITB travel trade show in Berlin. Therewith, bicycle tourism is a veritable sales buster for Germany's tourism sector.
Raimund Jennert, head of tourism at the ADFC's federal association, argues: Germany is world champion, not only in football. Nowhere else, so much attractive long distance bike routes are offered - and the whole world uses them for a visit. That is a reason to be proud of. Likewise it pledges us to keep quality standards high. Especially the 2015 top destinations, like the Baltic Sea Cost Cycle Path, have to do their quality management homework now.
