Public political figures, such as the city major of Göttingen, Mr. Köhler, as well as the parliamentary secretary of state, Mr. Barthel, were present at the opening ceremony.

The project "eCycle Superhighway - facilitating the changeover" is one of about 30 projects in the Lower Saxony Electro-Mobility-Show Case and is supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport and digital Infrastructure (BMVI) as part of the Electric-Mobility Show Case Initiative. The accompanying research of this project has been carried out by the "Sustainable Mobility Research Group" (SMRG), which aims to identify influencing factors that can affect the acceptance of pedelecs for commuting.

The first preliminary research results were also presented at the opening (Contact Everlin Piccinini).
