London's first "Walking and cycling Commissioner" appointed

Mayor appoints Walking and Cycling Commissioner

Will Norman, Global Partnerships Director at Nike, was appointed after a rigorous and competitive selection process, where 152 people applied for the new post. As new Walking and Cycling Commissioner he gets al full-time role responsible to the Deputy Mayor for Transport to make healthy, active, non-polluting travel easier in London. This will include pushing forward with the Mayor's Healthy Streets program to create a safer, more pleasant London for cyclists and pedestrians, and investing a budget of 770 million Pounds on infrastructure and initiatives to promote cycling until 2021/2022.
