Cycling Portal at Difu to terminate
Cycling Portal moves to the Road Traffic Academy
With project funding coming to an end, Germany‘s central web portal on cycling and mobility www.nrvp.de will no longer be updated. The existing pages will remain available until early 2022. Some key content will be transferred to a new web portal of the new federal Road Traffic Academy that is currently under development.
For 16 years we have been informing our readers about news and developments at www.nrvp.de and for 14 years the German Bicycle Academy has been active to build capacity across municipal practitioners, bringing together a total of 20,000 participants in more than 350 events. Both project were possible thanks to the support and funding from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). We would like to thank all our readers and all those who participated in events of the Bicycle Academy for your interest!
Difu will continue to inform you as usual by newsletter about news on the topics of cycling and sustainable mobility, research results and interesting events in German (subscribe here at nationaler-radverkehrsplan.de/de/newsletter). Stay tuned for our new look!
The new Road Traffic Academy
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is currently setting up the Road Traffic Academy at the Federal Office for Goods Transport (Bundesamt für Güterverkehr, BAG). It is being developed into a knowledge centre for cycling. The Road Traffic Academy will soon be launched with a new information and communication portal. The training courses on cycling will also be continued and further developed from autumn onwards. The BAG is working together with Difu, which was awarded the contract for the Road Traffic Academy's further training programme in a Europe-wide tendering procedure. The Bicycle Academy thus comes to an end.
The Road Traffic Academy team looks forward to informing you soon about the live launch of the new web portal under the Road Traffic Academy link on the homepage of the Federal Office for Goods Transport.
