Bicycle counters in Vienna: Cycling traffic increased by six percent in 2018

Cycling has been increasing since 2011. In 2018, cycle traffic at the counting points increased by six percent. All counting points recorded an increase. Last year, more than one million cyclists were counted at three of the automatic continuous counting points (at Operngasse, Opernring and Praterstern). A new record was set at the Opernring, the street with the most bicycle traffic in Vienna. More than 1.6 million cyclists were counted there in 2018.
