The public bike share system run by the Munich's public transport MVG started in October. Four and a half week later already 11,111 users had been registered, and up to 1,000 bicycles per day were rented.

Currently, up to 1,000 MVG bicycles were rented per day. Since the beginning a total of 20,000 bike rentals had been registered with an average rental time of 17 minutes, and peaks on weekends and on weekdays between 8 and 10 am resp. 4 to 8 pm.

Mainly the bikes are rent by casual users for a price between 5 and 8 cent per minute, but almost 700 clients are using the yearly tariff with a package of 30 minutes costs-free riding per day and an reduced per-minute-tariff of 5 cent.
