The "German Unification Trail" (Radweg Deutsche Einheit)

The new trail is a connection between Bonn, former German capital, and Berlin Germanys capital nowadays. The route is about 1,100 km and leads through North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Brandenburg.

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure will build the trail together with the German Länder. Modern "Radstätten" (service and information areas) along the route will run by solar technology, and will provide WLAN free of charge. There will be charging facilities for e-bikes and smartphones as well as an app for the use of the trail.
