Cargo bike meeting in Stuttgart
800 electric cargo bikes so far provided with funds by the state of Baden-Württemberg

"Electric cargo bikes can already replace many cars today. We are pleased to have such a great success with our promotion. Anyone who rides an electric cargo bike has taken the lead in mobility transition" said Transport Minister Hermann to over 60 users of electric cargo bikes who gathered in the courtyard of honour of the New Palace in Stuttgart on 4 November 2018.
The Ministry of Transport, together with the recipients of the subsidies, had a photo taken under the motto "Largest fleet of electric cargo bikes 2018". To date, the state has subsidised a total of around 800 electric cargo bikes. "Most of them replace a car. There could be even more if the municipalities were to offer just as comfortable parking spaces for cargo bikes on the road as they do for cars," explained Minister Hermann.
The Ministry of Transport will continue to promote the purchase of electric cargo bikes for commercial, non-profit, joint and municipal use with 30 percent of the investment costs or a maximum of 3,000 euros per electric cargo bike.
