200 million euros for additional cycle parking facilities
100,000 new bicycle parking spaces at Dutch train stations by 2025
More space for bicycles in the Netherlands thanks to more and more innovative bicycle parking facilities at train stations
Over the next few years, more and more innovative bicycle parking facilities will set up at an additional forty-six Dutch train stations. This means a better connection between bicycle, bus and train. The new bicycle parking facilities are being installed at stations that play an important role as public transport hubs or at locations where many apartments are to be built. This will increase the number of bicycle parking spaces at Dutch public transport nodes from 500,000 to 600,000. The national and regional governments will together spend about 200 million euros on the additional parking facilities. The Ministry of Infrastructure will contribute 75 million euros by climate funds.
