Also regulatory issues such as legal adaptations of road traffic regulations, road traffic law, building regulations etc. were discussed. The main lecture was given by Burkhard Stork of the ADFC.

Karlsruhe most bicycle-friendly city in Germany
170,000 people from 683 municipalities voted in 2018 on the bicycle-friendliness of their home town. According to the participants, the cycling climate, i.e. the satisfaction of those surveyed when cycling, has deteriorated further. In 2014 the bicycle climate was still rated at 3.7, in 2016 at 3.8 - in 2018 at 3.9.

In Stuttgart's inner city districts “RegioRadStuttgart” now offers a clever and everyday alternative for children's transport, grocery shopping and family outings. Ten “LastenRegioRäder“ (cargo bikes with electrical support) enable transports up to a weight of 45 kilograms.

Cargo-bikes for Hamburg's bicycle rental system
After the StadtRAD fleet was completely renewed on 1 February 2019 and increased to a total of 2,630 bicycles, cargo bikes were added, which can be borrowed since 6 April 2019. The aim is to increase the bicycle rental system to a total of 350 stations with around 4,500 bicycles.

Electric bike pushes traditional city bike from throne
In 2018 e-bike sales in the Netherlands reached a historically high level. The market share of electric bicycles rose from 31 percent to 40 percent. This means that four out of ten new bicycles are pedal-electric, and the market share of city bikes fell to 34 percent in 2018 (from 42 percent in 2017). The industry is optimistic about the future of bicycles.
